Designated facilities for PEP, HIV testing of alleged offenders
The Minister of Health has published, in Government Gazette No 34420, 5 July 2011, a list of public health facilities providing post-exposure prophylaxis and conducting compulsory HIV testing of alleged sexual offenders in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act.
Hospitals in the Eastern Cape include:
- Thuthuzela Centres in Mdantsane, Prot Elizabeth, and at the St Barnabas Hospital in Libode
- Sinawe Referral Centre at the Mthatha General Hospital
- Komani Crisis Life Centre in Queenstown.
Hospitals in the Free State include:
- National District Hospital in Bloemfontein
- Bothshabelo District Hospital
- Diamant Hospital in Jagersfontein
- Embekweni Hospital in Zastrom
- Mantsaya Hospital on Ladybrand.
